Zbigniew Namysłowski is a Polish jazz alto saxophonist, flautist, cellist, trombonist, pianist and composer born in Warsaw, perhaps best known for appearing on the Krzysztof Komeda album "Astigmatic". He has collaborated in the past with such artists as Leszek Możdżer, Michał Urbaniak and Andrzej Trzaskowski.
The Zbigniew Namysłowski Quintet plays original and characteristic ethno-jazz compositions, based on Polish folklore dances as oberek, mazurka, kujawiak and krakowiak. More influences come from arabian and spanish music.
Members of the Quintet are the most talented and famous young Polish players, including of Namysłowskis son.
