Singer, composer and producer Nina Kohout is one of the most prominent figures on the contemporary domestic music scene. She enchanted us all a year ago, at the Open-air Jazz Days in Rusovce. Nina is releasing her debut album this month, it's time for her to perform on our main stage.
A graduate of the prestigious The BRIT School in London, where Adele and Amy Winehouse have also studied, Nina was named Discovery of the Year at the 2020 Radio_Head Awards. In early 2022, she released her debut EP Pandemonium, which was met with excellent reviews not only at home but also abroad, including on UK radio station BBC.
In her music she combines the mysterious shades of old Slovak folklore with classical and electronic music, creating her own timeless, sometimes uncomfortably strange and anarchic musical world, pushing the boundaries of "musical obedience".
At the Bratislava Jazz Days Slovenská sporiteľňa she will perform together with his father, saxophonist and clarinetist Peter Kohout. Peter Kohout is known from his performances in the bands Chór Važských Muzikantov, Bez ladu a skladu and Neuropa, currently (together with Nina) he is a member of the concert line-up of the electronic project The Autumnist.
