Knower is an American jazz-funk duo that performs live as a high-octane six-piece ensemble. Concerts are the essence of the group's existence - it will rock any jazz, funk, or jazz-rock crowd. Knower became a star of California jazz a decade ago - they were promoted as the most talented jazz-funk band in Los Angeles by Quincy Jones at the time, and right after that they participated in the recording of "Family Dinner - Volume 2" by the legendary Snarky Puppies.
Knower by then had three albums to their credit and YouTube fame, where the band had been touted since their first upload in 2010. After the release of their fourth album, Life, they were already a full live band opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their European tour, then began their triumphant run at jazz festivals around the world. They also collaborated with Bob Minzer's big band.
The band consists of Louis Cole (bass, drums, guitars, keyboards, vocals) and Genevieve Artadi (bass, keyboards, vocals), with the ever-famous saxophone, bass and keyboards players rounding out the full band. The band's lineup is fluid, with past Knower appearances by bassists such as Tim Lefebvre and MonoNeon, keyboardist Jonah Nilsson (Dirty Loops), and guitarist Cory Wong.
The charismatic duo of Louis Cole and Geneviève Artadi and their bandmates break the codes of jazz and bring dubstep, rock and electro to the mix. 21st century jazz. Music videos and electrifying live performances have won them an impressive fan base - during Covid, their live flat recordings became a viral sensation.
Knower comes to our festival with their fifth album, "Knower Forever", released in 2023. Expect hot funk, great chords, deep melodies and vocals that will take the audience to an unforgettable concert full of surreal, thrilling moments.
